Artist Bio

Wendy has been a performance storyteller for over 20 years as well as an award-winning children’s playwright, dramaturg, and process drama specialist. Currently, Wendy produces and writes for two podcasts: The Apple Seed, a storytelling podcast, and Kaboom, original audio dramas for families for BYU Radio. Wendy has a bachelors in Theatre Performance with an emphasis in playwriting from UVU and a masters in storytelling and communication from East Tennessee State University. She has been the playwright-in-residence for the Noorda Children’s Theatre and Resonance Story Theatre. She also helps write curriculum and teaches for The Story Code. Teaching story structure in a new and transformational way is her super power.

For elementary schools Wendy offers the following residencies:

Everyone Has a Story – Learning the basics of storytelling with folktales from around the world. Culminates in the students performing a story. Can be tailor fit for any curriculum.

Curtains Up!– Learning the structure of story, then creating a class play to be performed by all.

For secondary schools Wendy offers the following residencies:

Everyone Has a Story – Exploring, developing and performing personal stories. Includes how to apply structure to personal stories.

Podcast Your Story – Learning the basics of podcasting and creating a podcast with the student’s stories.
