Continuing our celebration of #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth in collaboration with @utahindianaffairs, we are honored to highlight artist and musician Ty Allison @turquoisetyallison.

📍 Based in Utah County, Ty always enjoyed learning how to create, admiring his mother's jewelry and wanting to carry on his grandmother's silversmithing legacy.

For Ty, his artwork was a pathway to keeping traditions alive. This dedication also extends into music. As a flute player for over 10 years, Ty creates his own instruments by hand. 🪈 Whether shaping metal or sharing his culture, Ty wants "to impact the community by helping them connect with who they are."

Recognizing that "Native American culture is starting to become less common," she is dedicated to keeping her heritage alive. As a dance teacher at BYU, she mentors Native American students, helping the next generation find the courage to share their own stories.
