👀 Behind the Design:
Want to see an example of work for this year's theme? The Statewide Annual UT '26 branding was designed by @utahcce’s designer Jenny Duff. This design combines works on paper and mixed media. Jenny hand-assembled a physical paper collage before scanning it digitally to create this textured, multi-layered visual.

What a beautiful day to celebrate a beautiful occa What a beautiful day to celebrate a beautiful occasion! The Utah Public Art program was delighted to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Southern Utah University’s Joe and Beverly Burgess Business Family Center. This new facility includes our latest collection addition, “The Seed” by Utah artist Heath Satow.

“The Seed” is a cor-ten and mirror-polished stainless steel sculpture inspired by the native Utah groundcherry plant. This piece invites contemplation through the reflective “seed” visible within the weathered steel “pod,” invoking the inherent potential of each student. “The Seed” celebrates growth, perseverance, and the belief that great things often emerge from humble beginnings.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks and enthusiastic congratulations to Southern Utah University, the Utah Division of Facilities Construction and Management, MHTN Architects, and Zwick Construction.

It is the intention of the Art Selection Committee to commission site-specific work for Convergence Hall through a nationwide search for artists. The Committee is interested in artwork that embodies the idea of “convergence,” visualizing overlapping concepts of innovation and collaboration. Convergence Hall honors Utah's proud legacy of invention, while pushing forward into an expansive future where challenges become opportunities.

Currently, the Committee remains open to interior or exterior work, as some interior vantage points will provide full views from the exterior.
