The Utah State University Art + Design Exhibition Committee invites you to apply for our Local Artist Exhibition showcased in the Tippetts & Eccles Galleries this coming summer. This exhibition is open to all Utah artists. Please note that current students are not eligible. Alumni are welcome to apply. The exhibition dates are June 29 – August 7, 2026. Deadline: May 29

Call for artists for Sandy Arts Guild’s Plein Air Competition. Plein Air Paint Out Competition, May 28-30, a three day art competition where artists paint anything with Sandy City boundaries. Mediums include oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastels, and mixed media. Open to both professional and amateur artists. Winners will receive cash prizes and winning art will be on display.

Call for artists for Sandy Arts Guild’s Plein Air Quick Draw Competition. On June 13, this three-hour timed art competition will be held in Sego Lily Gardens. Anything viewable inside the gardens may be used as subject matter. Mediums include oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastels, and mixed media. Open to anyone 5 and older - this is a great event for families who want to participate together. Winners will receive cash prizes and winning art will be on display.

Salt Lake City Arts Council’s 2027 Finch Lane Gallery call for exhibition proposals is now open. Utah-based artists and curators are invited to apply for the opportunity to showcase their work, explore meaningful ideas, and gain hands-on experience in exhibition production and collaboration. Both established and emerging artists are encouraged to apply, and previous exhibition experience is not required. Located in Reservoir Park, Finch Lane Gallery is a contemporary space featuring rotating visual arts exhibitions across two gallery spaces. Exhibitions are accompanied by artist receptions and opportunities for public engagement. Deadline: June 21

Call for artists in residence: Bountiful Davis Art Center’s 2027 Artist-in-Residence program offers dedicated studio space and time to develop new work within a supportive, community-centered environment. Residents engage with the public by sharing their process and creative practice. Two selected artists will also receive a solo exhibition following their residency—providing a meaningful platform to present new work. Deadline: June 29

Call for exhibition proposals: Bountiful Davis Art Center invites artists and curators to submit proposals for exhibitions in 2027 and early 2028. This is an opportunity to present a solo exhibition, contribute to a group show, or propose a curatorial concept. Artists at all career stages and across media are encouraged to apply. Deadline: June 29

Springville Museum of Art is currently seeking artwork exploring social connection that is authentic to the artists’ practice. At a time when loneliness and isolation are shaping how we live, work, and relate to one another, the exhibition In This Together invites artists and audiences to explore the power and urgency of social connection. Developed in collaboration with Dr. Julianne Holt-Lunstad — a nationally recognized social connection researcher and professor — the exhibition brings art and research into conversation. The exhibition will feature up to 15 artworks by Utah artists, selected for their artistic excellence and their ability to engage ideas of belonging, connection, and community. Deadline: July 1

Boulder Project in Salt Lake city is designed to be a welcoming space that forges a vibrant community centered around health, friendship, and purpose. Our Community Arts Program was created to amplify the artistic expression of our community members. We believe that fresh, community-generated art breathes life into our facility and inspires a more meaningful and thoughtful experience for our members and guests. Deadline: Rolling

Sorenson Community Campus Art Galleries - The Sorenson Campus serves the public as a place where the city conducts its business, maintains the facility, and offers the public access to the space for rentals, exhibitions, and community services. There is no fee to apply, individual artists, individual artists applying as a group, and non-profit organizations are eligible. Deadline: Rolling

UMOCA Projects Gallery - An initiative to promote Utah artists as they engage the contemporary art world locally and nationally. It is the first exhibition space that visitors encounter when entering UMOCA and is solely dedicated to exhibiting the work of Utah artists, providing them with a professional exhibition environment, prominent exposure to UMOCA visitors, and through UMOCA’s increasing national ties, the possibility of greater exposure around the country. Deadline: Rolling

Davis Arts Council is looking for gallery submissions from solo artists and art groups to hang in our Snow Horse Art Galleries at Intermountain Layton Hospital and the Davis Conference Center. The artist(s) should plan to exhibit approximately 15-25 pieces. To apply to participate, complete the submission appication. Deadline: Rolling

Millcreek Commons hosts markets on various dates throughout the summer that are open for vendor applications.  Deadline: Rolling


National and International Opportunities


Fall registration is now open for Penland School of Craft in Bakersville, NC. Penland offers intensive craft workshops in a wide range of media. Most of these are designated in the workshop description as “all levels.” This means they welcome serious students of all skill levels, including beginners. Deadline: Registration is open until classes fill.

Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts & Agriculture - 2027 Residency Program: PMRCAA invites artists, scholars, and scientists to investigate the fundamentals of their practice and explore the theme of Process and Material on a working ranch in Central Oregon, with access to studios, open spaces, and the surrounding scenery. Deadline: July 6

Ucross invites visual artists, writers, choreographers, composers, interdisciplinary artists, performance artists, and collaborative groups to apply for a residency in the majestic High Plains of Wyoming. Ucross provides a studio of your own, lunches delivered to your door, dinners and camaraderie with fellow dedicated artists, comfortable living accommodations, a stipend, and full staff support. Deadline: July 15
