Public Art Opportunities

The Town of Basalt, CO, through the Basalt Public Arts Commission is accepting proposals to create a unique sculpture for the Town of Basalt that will be located within the landscaped roundabout at Willits Town Center in West Basalt. The sculpture should capture the atmosphere, energy, and architectural character of the surrounding area.
Budget: $100,000 – Deadline: Oct. 23, 2026

The Bernalillo County Arts Board is seeking qualifications from artists who are interested in creating outdoor artwork for Fire Station 36, located in Albuquerque, NM. The goal is to create a meaningful visual landmark through collaboration with firefighters and local community members.

The City of South Salt Lake and South Salt Lake Arts are requesting qualifications from artists to design and fabricate a permanent, large-scale artistic shade structure. This signature piece will serve as the functional and aesthetic anchor for the lawn portion of the Water Tower Plaza.
Budget: $90,000 – Deadline: Oct. 30, 2026

⊗ The Loveland High Plains Arts Council is seeking to purchase a life-size or larger outdoor sculpture to enhance the permanent collection in the Benson Sculpture Garden, located in Loveland, CO. The council will accept submissions for bronze, as well as stone, metal, or other durable, permanent materials that are easily maintained and able to withstand the year-round weather conditions.

The City of Avondale, AZ is seeking artists interested in creating artwork for the upcoming Donatela Park.The art should reflect the characteristics of the surrounding area and encourage people to learn, play, and connect.

The City of Fort Collins, CO, Art in Public Places Program is seeking artists to create public artwork for the Water Quality Services Division Building Project. This work is intended to be a permanent addition to the City of Fort Collins, so maintenance and conservation should be considered.
Budget: $295,000 – Deadline: Nov. 16, 2026

The Wyoming Art in Public Buildings Program seeks qualifications from artists to create artwork for the upcoming addition to the Science Center at Sheridan College. Artists should consider the following themes when applying to this call: science, continuing education, community, and contributions to the greater good.
Budget: $90,000 – Deadline: Nov. 22, 2026

The City of Ann Arbor, MI invites artists to submit qualifications to create a permanent public artwork along the Nixon Road corridor. This opportunity is part of the city’s streetscape improvements to Nixon Road, spanning approximately one mile between Huron Parkway and Dhu Varren/Green Road.

The City of Minneapolis invites artists to create public artwork for the Graco Park Tunnel. The goal of the artwork is to commemorate and celebrate the rich and culturally unique communities in the area.

The City of Hilliard, OH is seeking qualifications from an artist or an artist team to create an outdoor sculpture at The Well, a new recreation and wellness facility. The artwork should reflect the character of Hilliard and enhance the city’s visual landscape.

The Sacramento Office of Arts and Culture Art in Public Places Program is seeking an artist/team to create artwork for the newly renovated Martin Luther King, Jr. Library. While the artwork may be figurative, abstract, or non-objective in design, it should speak to the theme of civil rights.
Budget: $151,000 – Deadline: Oct. 27, 2026

The Preservation Society of Newport County, RI invites artists to submit proposals for site-specific, functional garden benches inspired by the landscapes, horticultural traditions, and history of Green Animals Topiary Garden in Portsmouth, RI.
Budget: $3,000 – Deadline: Nov. 1, 2026

The Orange County Public Art Review Board seeks one or more artists to create artwork for the newly renovated Tangelo Park Community Center in Orlando, FL. The artwork should reflect themes of community, family, and/or historical perspectives documenting the local community.

The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public Art Commission is seeking qualifications from professional artists or artist-led teams to design, paint, and install a mural on the south-facing exterior wall of the Dream Center of Forsyth County in east Winston-Salem, SC.

The WMATA Art in Transit Program is seeking qualifications from artists to create site-specific artwork for the Bladensburg Bus Garage Reconstruction Project in Washington, D.C. The authority is seeking a unique, memorable, and engaging artwork that captures the authority's mission and reflects the artistic, cultural, and/or historical interests of the surrounding community.
Budget: $330,000 – Deadline: Nov. 15, 2026

The City of Raleigh seeks three artists or artist teams to create durable public artwork on tunnel entrances or wing walls along the Raleigh Greenway. The artwork should make the trails more welcoming and engaging while remaining durable to the outdoor conditions.
Budget: $30,000/artwork – Deadline: Nov. 20, 2026

The City of Norfolk, VA seeks to commission an artist to create a permanent artwork for the Waterside Parking Garage, a prominent gateway to downtown and the waterfront. The installation should reflect movement, connection, and the innovative spirit of Norfolk, offering a bold visual landmark for commuters and visitors.
Budget: $215,000 – Deadline: Dec. 4, 2026

The City of Olympia, WA is seeking artists to develop site-specific artwork for two projects as part of the Olympia Art Crossings Project. The two project locations are along civic boulevards and mark primary gateways to downtown Olympia. This opportunity is open to artists with a connection to Olympia.

Chicago City Murals invites professional artists and artist teams to submit qualifications for a large-scale outdoor mural celebrating neighborhood identity, everyday life, and the cultural energy of Chicago. The goal is to create a welcoming neighborhood landmark that feels distinctly connected to Chicago while allowing the selected artist significant creative freedom.

The Western States Arts Federation’s Public Art Art Archive invites artists who are not already listed, to submit artwork for inclusion in a national online database of public art. To be considered, you must be a professional artist who has completed and installed public artwork.
