The Alta Historical Society’s mission is to collect and preserve historical photographs, films, documents, and artifacts related to Alta’s past. Online resources include Alta Powder News, fun facts, Q&A, points of interest, photographs, fireside chats flyers, and information on the area’s natural and built environments. The Society also has an exhibit of old photographs, historical information, and mining memorabilia on permanent display at the Alta Community Center and Library.
